brightspeed Ice Park offers Learn to Skate classes!
Learn to Skate classes in Springfield are offered by the Springfield Greene County Park board. There are five sessions each year. The Learn to Skate program has classes for young children (Snowplow Sam) through adults (Adult 1-6). Starting Learn to Skate? Don't forget your gloves! Helmets are strongly recommended as well. Clothes should be warm but you will need to be able to move easily.
There are also private lessons available. Check with Alli Schaefer at brightspeed Ice Park for information on current coaches with availability. allison.schaefer@springfieldmo.gov
Each session ends with an assessment by the coach. This determines if skaters will advance a level or need to stay in the same level to work on skills.
